Thanks to the generosity of Fernando Jones and the Blues Kids foundation, twelve of our Blues Project kids got to participate in a week of blues camp at Columbia College in Chicago with kids from all around the world. We rented a van this year to transport our Valpo kids to the city each morning, where they received instruction and tutelage from Fernando Jones and the Blues Kids staff, and learned a handful of songs in smaller ensembles. Each evening the students got to perform at fantastic venues like the Hard Rock Cafe, Navy Pier, Reggie's Rock Club, the Wire, and the historic Glessner House Museum. Check out the Blues Kids foundation (www.blueskids.com/) to find out more about the great work they're doing to keep the blues alive, and enjoy some of our photos from throughout the week!
